Your local and digital Credit Union — built for you
Our commitment to serving local government is here to stay. And now, we’re building a new credit union experience to meet your unique needs — that’s personal and convenient.
We're here
We’re building something new (and it’s pretty exciting). Get the latest information right here.
You talked and we listened. The result is that we’re adding 11 branch locations in 2024 and also working with State Employees’ Credit Union to offer cash solutions. We're also planning to partner with many NC retailers in 2025 and beyond for cash options. Plus, we’re coming to a local government building near you with free financial education and training to help guide you through these changes.
Stay up to date
LGFCU and Civic partner with the UNC School of Government to fund professional development scholarships for those in public service. We’ve reached the $1 million milestone of scholarship funding!
Our pledge is always to listen to our members, and so we’re pleased to announce the 2024 opening of Civic branches in key locations across the state. We also have several solutions to members’ request for cash withdrawal and deposit options. Plus, find out how we’re bridging a digital divide.
We’ve decided that we need more time to innovate, to ensure that you receive the exceptional service you deserve. So, instead of introducing our new Credit Union platform to members in March 2024, we have extended our timetable for independence from State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) to 2025. SECU is supporting us fully through this transition.
Meet Civic
We built Civic, a future-forward, accessible Credit Union, offering highly competitive products and services specifically tailored to the needs of our members. We’ll use Civic’s newer technology to manage your accounts. Now, we can provide you even more financial solutions that we couldn’t while SECU managed LGFCU accounts. Find out what Civic has to offer.
